I purchased a Milltek exhaust for my 04 S4 in the US. The company wich sells the exhaust was sending out with the exhaust a "paste" that is used to seal the joints.

The muffler shop who installed the exhaust said when I was there "In 29 years, I never used paste". Now, I've found out that I have two exhaust leak. One is a little one but the other one is so huge it's making a loud hissing noise and I made a test with a candle to make sure and when it's hot, it's even worst. It's a "huge" leak. Now, the muffler shop want me to take the car back to him and he told me when I spoke with him yesterday "bah, yes, if you want you can come back, we'll see if we can do something" :squintfin ... I want to know, should I require him to put the paste between the joints (that way, no more leak) or I let him do whatever he wants?

Thanx,

Let them do whatever needs to be done, just make sure they don't charge you. Muffler shops usually carry that paste stuff, so if he needs it, he'll use it.
