Hey guys,

Curious... it's my gf's and I's 5 year aniversary this december 1st... I'm curious, where would you guys recommend to go dine at?

I'm looking for a place that serves chicken plates, meat plates... stuff like that...
pasta as well... we're not into fish or anything like that... simple is good :)

any place you guys would recommend?

oh, and a nice romantic type atmosphere :D

Thanks :)

Depends what's your budget...

I would suggest 40 Ouest, live Jazz, good food and service but freakin expensive.

Cavali's on Peel is very classy and pricy..

Restaurant 737 is always a good bet....

Then there are tonnes of nice small, elegant restaurants that have a good ambience all over the Montreal metropolitain.

Congratulations, by the way.., I went out with my ex for about over 5 years...

House of Jazz (used to be biddles)decent ribs, its all about the settign and abiance there.

Pasta I love Weinsteins & Gavinos but its rather noisy in there....

I went to Cure Du Chaval (sp?) in the summer time, very nice but I hear its one of the most expensive in MTL. It was 8 of us, bill was about $2000 + Service and their meat is top notch there. better be for that price lol

Go to BICE on Sherbrooke Trust me..

So this place is really nice?

This girl and I plan on going out to dinner for our Bdays (Dec 1/ dec 3rd) this Friday. I want something where we can dress nice...and I'm not gonna see people eating in t shirts and baseball caps lol.

U been to the restaurant in the Casino?? Food is expensive but supposedly pretty good.....

Gladiatore in Laval is classy as well.....

Suprised nobody has mentioned most of the places at the Old Port, cant remember the name but i went to this french cuisine place once. It was like on 'basement' level but **** was it ever nice. the food was really tasting good, the place was very elegant and the atmosphere felt elite.

lol mostlikely we could :D hehe

I'm mainly curious what people here have tried, what they like, recommend...

budget wise... I'd be willing to spend about 75-80$ for us together... I'd say higher, but my gf would freak at the price as it is... lol

Curious, people mentionned stuff in montreal, anything on the shore to recommend?

I don't mind going to montreal :D just curious

I think you're talking about the "S" restaurant.

I work at Modavie on st-paul/st-laurent, there's live jazz 7 nights a week.

From sunday to wednesday there's a duo - guitar/upright bass
Thursday and friday there's the Greg Clayton trio - guitar/upright bass/singer
Saturday it's the Greg Clayton quartet - guitar/upright bass/drums/singer

Check out the menu at www.modavie.com
