Rumored price tag around 35K, but I doubt, might be more around the high 30'S or Low 40's

But still, no one can really guess the price until Bmw NA reveils it

and we should have 1:1 with US change by 2008, CAN'T WAIT :yikes:

It's a cool little car, I like it.
But seems way expensive for the size of the car !

Curious, what are your thoughts of the new 1-series.

so, when the 1-series was first released in europe, I was in love with it. Then as time passed and the 1-series coupe was being debuted I had mixed feelings. The headlights didn't flow aggresively with the front bumper and I couldn't stand the tailights. So then I got used to the front, but was uneasy of the back.

That was until I saw this picture....which changed my mind and I really like the back now...

BMW, stop playing with my mind!

What are your thoughts?

too bad it won't be lightweight (135)

the specs I saw were 34xx lbs, just a little bit under a 335.

Imagine this car at 2900lbs (type-R style)

Yep the Car is Sick

I don't know for the weight, we still do not have official specs yet, but if it's stated as 3400 lbs its sucks. But I'll buy one anyway within the next 3 years, I think it will be better to wait until the car proven itself.

But you know, weight loss does exist also, but you lose ride quality and confort

We'll see, but I will follow the car developments

130i M-Sport 3Door hatch weights 1450kg according to www.bmw.co.uk which is 3190 pounds

Is the Hatch heavier than the Coupe with the same engine (let's say 2.8L for example) ? I think yes

It will be heavier with the twin turbo engine, but without sunroof, and other goodies, we'll see.

I would be $$ the 135 would be mid 40s to compete with the high end A3 ++ options

that's me being pessimistic of course

actually you're probably right now that I think more about it.

EDIT: ya...weighs more than I'd have liked. Weights are suppose to be with 90% gas tank full and with driver.

335i (coupe)
Length × Width × Height in: 180.6 × 70.2 × 54.1
Weight lb (kg): 3571 (1621)

135i
Length × Width × Height in: 171.7 × 68.8 × 55.4
Weight lb (kg): 3438 (1560)

Cayman S
Length × Width × Height in: 172.1 × 70.9 × 51.4
Weight lb (kg): 2954 (1340)

ouffff really disapointting weight,
and I think that Robert is right for the following reasons :

I was guessing mid 30's but I doubt it, at 35K it will be a blast and they would
sell so many that the price would drop too much when pre-owned, they would flood the market.
And it might kill the cooper S also.

base price might be more around 38K and fully equip let's say 44K...

For reference, Turbo B200, direct competitor,
base price is 38K, right on the money for target price.

But to me :

over the 40K bar is way too much for the size.... I'll pass my turn
