What's the point of living if, when we lose electricity, our modems cease working, preventing us from visiting MontrealRacing?
 
Not only that, gas pumps stop working, so driving in Montreal is done too, so it's not even like we can access the site from somewhere that does have power! :run:
 
Moi j'ai fait construire un bunker dans la cour. Anti radiation, anti-glace, hermétique comme un contenant tupperware et avec une petite serre hydroponique et 2/3 têtes de bétail à l'intérieur.

C'est pas très luxueux, faut s'entendre... mais c'est très efficace! Y'a une génératrice de 10,000W, pis une deuxième que je peux faire tourner en parallèle ou ben en backup. Y'a un battery backup aussi, pour faire fondre la glace sur l'exhaust. Connection satellite avec une soucoupe dans un globe de verre chauffant (pour les tornades). En plus, au cas où on serait envahi, y'a un minigun robotisé en dessous de l'étang artificiel.

À l'intérieur y'a un système de ventilation certifié HEPA, qui prends son air 2 km. plus loin, en plus si y'a une attaque chimique ou bactériologique, le tout se ferme hermétiquement et moi pis mon chum on à installé un système de filtre du CO2 comme dans les sous-marins.

Ça c'est sans compter le force field Tesla sur le dessus de l'entrée...

Je me sent toujours pas sécuritaire, mais c'est ben mieux que rien.
 
unless someone cuts the power over at hydro it should keep flowing for a few decades with little to no maintenance. Hydro electric facility's are setup to run unmanned.

You can also access water in the pipes of your home, cut the water so no containment gets in your home. open a faucet on the top floor for air , and on a lower floor ,open another. the clean water stuck in the pipes should come out.

IMHO the problem is the wires themselves rather than the facilities... Most of the big line are solid and away from trees but the smaller lines all have trees near them.
 
J'ai la chance d'avoir acheté une maison qui chauffe électrique et j'ai un poêle a l'huile pis ca chauffe en $#?# ! Sinon j'ai toujours des prévisions de piles alcalines, pour la bouffe , quelques bouteilles d'eau sinon rien de plus.

J'ai rien de tout ca... et j'aime autant jamais revivre la crise du verglas osti... Le québec c'était transformer en tier monde.
 
we have a fireplace at home and at the chalet, canned food (not for weeks tough), lots of camping gear, a blazer and a sailboat. on a trailer + my car

i guess we can go trough some shit if need is, without having to rely on others. But sadly we dont have guns, so if riots, or a zombie invasion happens, we'll be in deep shit..

Funny thing is, during the last huge ice storm (verglas 97?), we didnt miss power for a single second during the whole 2 weeks.. And i even had access to internet! Those were fun vacations :D

J'ai pas grand chose en cas de "désastre"... j'ai un powerpack patente pour brancher sur l'auto qui sort des prises de 120v, stune grosse boite, un affaire de 3000w je crois. Ca va etre suffisant pour faire rouler la sump pump pis le frigidaire a biere :bigup:

J'ai mon jeep... 6.5" de lift pis des Super Swampers 34". Il vas y avoir du monde dans marde en maudit avant que je soit pu capable de circuler avec ca :thefinger
 
Yeah, but I have a 1.24" ground clearance and a FWD Civic chassis that only goes to AWD when I slip the tires, pretty sure that's far superior :D

On yeah and 133 foot/lbs of arthritic power.
 
Vous avez surement tous deja vu le film Jurassic Park sur une télévision tres peu différente de celle ci:

Si vous avez vu Miguel Sandoval se faire dévoré par des dinosaures dans cette télévision, ca ne veux pas nécéssairement dire qu'il s'est vraiment fait dévoré par des dinosaures.
