so why buy American?
A Variety of reasons:
Price (certain models)
Design (certain models)
Bang for the buck (most models)
Loyalty & supporting the north-american economy
The fact is that:
American cars have positively evolved a lot in the last few years, much more than the japanese or european ones. I would say that only the Koreans have displayed a bigger/better evolution.
Their resale value is on an upward trend. Not yet at japanese levels, it's extremely tough to change mass perception.
Best designs in the last 30 years compared to the japs who seem to be struggling with that aspect.
Ford is obviously leading the pack and Chrysler is in a distant 3rd.
Fusion/MKZ, Taurus/MKS, Fiesta, new Focus, new Explorer, Edge/MKX, F-series, Mustang, Malibu, Cruze, Traverse/Acadia/Enclave, Regal, Lucerne, new Sonic, , Equinox/Terrain, Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade, CTS, STS, SRX, Corvette, Camaro, Charger, Journey, Grand Caravan, 200/Avenger, Grand Cherokee, Durango, RAM and Wrangler
are cars that should be on the list of possibilities of anyone looking for a car in each one's respective class
