I was driving downtown around 3pm and there were about 20 cop cars parked around Shebrooke/McGill and I saw maybe another 2 on each block while I was going south west to the highway. I've never seen so many cop cars before.

Thousands of protesters marched through downtown Montreal to denounce Jean Charest's government plan to increase tuition fees and raise health tax amongst other things. The march started from Place du Canada, then went on Saint Catherine St, to finally finish in front of Jean Charest's office.

People gathered from every corner of Quebec. Teachers, students, and health professionals together walked peacefully chanting anti-government slogans, yet according to the city of Montreal's police ten people were arrested and charged with conspiracy.
