jai été vendeur automobile by the way..

we lol tes content la :p :D

so you only have to pay the 6.1% duty if the car isn't manufactured in the states? does that mean you can buy a 2010 Civic Si (assembled in US and/or Canada) and not pay the 6.1% duty?

PST + GST + duty(if car not made in North America) + recall letter + RIV fee... makes it cost prohibitive to import cars for profit.

true

yep, confirmed here. here's a VIN sample, it starts with a "2" (Canada)

Because if you're buying a car from here you're not paying two taxes lol?

So it's better to buy a 335i from here pay two taxes without duty for 25k vs the same car in the states at 15k + 6.1% duties... Really?

You can still profit even after paying the taxes you guys make it seem if you buy a car from here there are no taxes all of sudden haha.

I've heard BMWs are especially difficult to import, the recall letter costs $1000. It's necessary for a recall letter from the manufacturer in order to import.

X2
La 350z vaut pas la peine. Carrera, Vantage V8, Classe E, etc..

Yes it's expensif...
2006 and up you have to change the cluster and get you recall letter
2005 and less it's a reprogramme + the recall letter
This was for the M serie's, 7 serie and mini... Not sure about the rest but I think all BMW vehicule will be the same.
BMW are one of the most expensive vehicule to import
Price can change depending on your BMW dealer so you better shop around...

I bought my ride from Virginia, Will never buy a used Quebec car again. Not only is it mint, with taxes I probably saved 3-4grand on a 12 grand car.

Can you please inform me on whats the approx total cost of importing ?

I'm looking to buy a Ford Fusion SEL V6 AWD 2008 from the states. They're 2-3k less expensive there and way way in better shape in the states.
I'm "scared" that the 2-3k gap will close with all the taxes\shipping(!????) and duty from the customs..

Thanks
