Today marked the official start of Air France's daily A380 service to Montreal. So I figured it would be a good time to spend a couple hours at the airport, after all the weather was nice for a change.
AFR346- A388

KLM MD-11

TSC A310

Canjet/TuFly B738 which made a very banzai landing.

Air Canada A333 from London-

On TV they also said it landed on 06R. The media was also pissed off that all the enthusiasts got to Ch.St Francois hours before them.

www.airfrance.ca to find out how much it costs for reals.

14 608 $ c'est malade...

Depends. If you compare it to economy class with Air Canada, then yea, c'est malade.

If you compare it to the probable alternative for someone who will pay $14k for a plane ticket (charter a G4), it's not so bad;

$90,000 THEN;

International disclaimer: As this itinerary involves travel to multiple countries, additional charges such as landing, parking, hangar, facility use fees, customs, deicing, international flight planning, handling fees, flight phone use, wait charges, catering, etc... will be billed as incurred. A Flexjet operations representative will review your itinerary and contact you directly with a finalized quotation.

Crew duty disclaimer: This trip, as currently defined, may require a crew change or crew rest to meet government regulations. An overnight stay (which could affect aircraft availability) or other changes may be necessary. A Flexjet operations representative will review your itinerary and contact you directly with a finalized quotation.

yeah but a G4/5 can haul 15 people (which brings price down to 6k per person)

travel on YOUR schedule, fly higher, faster, avoid terminal bullshit and not crammed into a sardine can with 500 other people
if your travelling alone, its a different story. Hence why they can charge so much for first class (they know people will pay it)

first class emirates = holy fukk

Got to see that bitch land first hand

^Polak, were you watching from the tarmac too?

We used take a couple vehicles to the edge of the Romeo and watch from there. Such a huge plane up close. Security frowns upon that these days, though.

Sucks for the guy sitting on the lav.

It's funny though, usually the guys who have the Learjets cram 8 people inside.

Those with Challengers, G4's, Globals, etc., 4-6 pax is "full".

I know some of the airlines are offering customs pre clearance for 1st class pax.

so true.. all relative though, like the tight-budget family crammed into a yaris driving by the single dude in an S class

Not to mention when you land in a private aircraft US customs is rather chill. Just radio ahead to make sure where you are landing has staff on duty :O ;)
