Kony 2012 - Watch It (Could be a scam)

original

Even if it's 100% a scam, you can't take away the fact that it gets people thinking about the rest of the world instead of Hollywood bullshit.

/\ That's what I'm thinking. Even if they have sketchy financial reports, you can't say they haven't done a good job raising awareness... Every single personon facebook has this video as their status. Talk about a video gone viral; 11M hits in 48hrs.

great expose of propaganda & pysch warfare manipulation

I wonder who finances Koni?

Shell Asks U.S. Supreme Court to Bar Human-Rights Suit

By Bob Van Voris - Feb 28, 2012 2:21 PM ET .LinkedIn Google +1 Print QUEUEQ..Royal Dutch Shell Plc (RDSA) asked the U.S. Supreme Court to rule that the company can't be sued by Nigerians seeking damages for torture and murders committed by their government in the early 1990s.

The high court in Washington is considering whether companies are exempt from two statutes imposing liability for human-rights violations. Shell, Europe's biggest oil company, argued today that the Alien Tort Statute, which dates to 1789, can't be used to sue corporations. The Nigerian plaintiffs claim there's nothing in the law that limits liability to individuals.

"We do not urge a rule of corporate impunity here," said Kathleen Sullivan, a lawyer for Shell. "Corporate officers are liable for human-rights violations and for those they direct among their employees. There can also be suits under state law or the domestic laws of nations. But there may not be ATS federal common-law causes of action against corporations."

The case, Kiobel v. Royal Dutch Petroleum Co., was filed in 2002 by 12 Nigerians claiming they were harmed by "widespread and systematic human rights violations" committed by the regime of the former military dictator Sani Abacha, including torture, executions, illegal detentions and indiscriminate killings in the Ogoni region of the Niger Delta.

'No Claim'
Paul Hoffman, who represents the Nigerian plaintiffs, criticized Shell's position, arguing that "even if these corporations had jointly operated torture centers with the military dictatorship in Nigeria to detain, torture, and kill all opponents of Shell's operations in Ogoni, the victims would have no claim."

brilliant scam. Lets raise awareness on something else like this and make millions off this method before everyone tries

the only good that can come out of this is if armed hipsters try to overthrow the ugandan military. take out 2 groups of morons with one action.

for 30$ scam or not , i aint gonna cheap out on the chances of something happening , even tho if scam , it goes on to be greater then just kony , it goes to show that if a video can have 2 million views in 1 day and tons of people are willing to help , then we can target other stuff after this aswell , just goes to show that the world does care and it is mostly the young age group that are trying to change our future, so wether it works or not im happy to say im part of the people who are caring about the world and the future of ourselves and other.

and so what this guy becomes rich over this , i rather have a bunch of people get rich trying to save the world then politicians and peopl working for the GOV. getting rich by scaming us over and not helping no one , yes so what most of the money goes for his next video and for equipment and shit like that .....how many millions are donated to find a cure for cancer each year for getting better equipemnt and continuing the studies but yet we still donate because its a good cause and there is a " CHANCE" we can find the cure right?
