Dashboard Camera - Need advice

Oh yeah? I'm pretty satisfied with the quality I get.. perhaps we had different expectations? I read the reviews and this is one of the best night cams according to users.

Got fu@ked . For some reason every time I turn on the car it does not start anymore. And is not recording anymore.
If I do a "delete all" it starts. But I have to do that every time I start the car.
Oh maaaann I could have had some nice videos !!

oh no.. mine's still going strong and most of the time I forget it's running. Have you tried to unplug everything, maybe make sure the connection is secured?

So I use this card.

I pulled the card out and I can't delete the files on it. None. I tried the format the card from the camera , from my PC, nothing works. Lol
I guess is the card the problem.
And yes I tried to unplug all, even for one night. Still nothing.
I'll report back once I change the SD card.
Any suggestions for SD?

Had the same problem with my ADATA card, had to sent it back for warranty replacement.

Tks.
Didn't even think about sending it back. I've had it for almost one year now...I'd have to check how long is the warranty.

I encourage people to get these dashcams preferrably one that films both the front and back.
Not only does it document `interesting`things but you can capture important accidents either involving you or others etc.

I hope this will become a standard feature soon in a vehicle like a blackbox on an airplane with the option of turning it off

So I decided to give it a try and SanDisk asked me to send it back and they will send me a new one. I was actually surprised...two years later. Tks davebert for the suggestion.

BUT my goal of this post was to mention you guys what they told me.
" SANDISK INTRODUCES ITS FIRST MEMORY CARDS ENGINEERED SPECIFICALLY FOR DASHBOARD CAMERAS AND HOME VIDEO MONITORING SYSTEMS"
They said "we only recommend HIGH ENDURANCE cards on dash cameras". Didn't even know about those cards.
So they are replacing my U1 with a O10.
They said that if the dashcamera moves a lot in the car..it can dammage the card.

If I go deep in my research...it could even make perfect sense, because this is the car that drives the most and all year around. So I guess in the winter our potholes do not help.
I have same cards in my other ones and no problems. Coincidence?
I do not know.

Anyhow...here is the link for the recommneded card:

High Endurance SD cards recommended for dash camera

I got this
http://www.amazon.ca/Spy-Tec-A118-C...e=UTF8&qid=1454895688&sr=8-7&keywords=dashcam
Camera blends in fine. Quality is great and it doesn't run off a battery (however it dies right away once power is cut, vs battery which can run minutes after). The only good thing I see is that it may last in the long-term because it doesn't have a battery which seems to die after a year and messes up the camera (Power cable charges dead battery, dead battery *tries* to powers device). I would have liked to get a front/back camera but didn't find anything that I liked.

I also ordered the SD card amazon recommended but it ended up being a fake (I ran a write/read program) and it ended up being a 8gb card. This happened twice to me, the other being a mobile kiosk at a mall.

Thread revival:

SD cards do that sometimes. There's a utility that some found works (I think it's called SD Flash Utils or something) but all the ones I got into that state were good for the poubelle. Most of the time it will throw the card that way when something is writing to it and loses power.

I've had it happen with Raspberry Pi's and also with at least one cell phone.
