ok, so MSRP was $60,000 back in 1990.

Guy barely used it for 25 years, maintained it, plated it, insured it ... and now sells it for $55,000 (in 2015 dollars).

Would have been lot better deal to just use it all this time and sell it for half of that !

1990 average house : 60k ... today same house with no investment : 250k

1. buy a brand new porsche
2. drive it 330km/years
3. sell it almost same price 24 years later
4. ...
5. profit... lol

Air cooled 911's have shut up in price over the past 2-years however nothing justifies this asking price especially that it is the 964 (the worst of the air cooled 911's). If you are in the market you are better off with the SC or even better the 911 Carrera (86-88). Skip the 964 altogether, if you have the cash get the 993.

I wouldn't touch this one with a 10 foot pole. With 8K clicks on the engine, it will probably need an engine rebuild as the seals are probably all leaking. Air cooled 911's must be driven on a regular basis to run correctly.

Dans mon guide de l'auto 1991 ça commence dans les 80k me semble.

You guys are jokes.
Put that thing on rennlist forums and it will be sold in less than a day to be resold for twice the price.
5000 miles, match numbers, all original... people go nuts for 964's.

People who know air cooled 911's know that the 964 is not the first choice...Why would it sell for twice the price for a Carrera 2? This is not a RS. At your so called twice the price ($100K) there is no way unless you are a sucker. You can get a 993 Turbo for $80-$90K which is superior in every way compared to this 964. I don't think you know air cooled 911's.

.

A couple years back and I really mean a couple years back the 964 was unloved and always undesirable because everyone wanted 993s or 911SC.. However now 964 prices have skyrocketed because everyone want's something aircooled, doesn't matter the gen or options. Thank the yummie crowd for that. Man up and a buy a 930 is what I say.. The bubble will burst one of these days

I guess you don't follow the 964 market lately.. Since last summer prices have gone insane.

The regular 964 c2 are almost $40k USD even with high mileage.

A lot of people now prefer the 964 to the 993 as it has the classic lines. I see more 993 for sale and not selling on rennlist than 964 now.

I have been following the 911 air cooled market for close to 5 years and all air cooled 911's have gone up in price even the bastard 964. As Gregster pointed out, the only reason the 964 went up is because it is air cooled. Talk to anyone in the 911 market and they will tell you that mechanically the 911 SC, Carrera 85-88 and 993 are better cars than the 964. But when it is fashionable to own something it doesn't matter if it is good or not.

Go speak with Carlos or Arnold if you want to know which air cooled to buy...

Using it all this time and putting 160k km on it he would've sold it over $40k CAD today

The $15k more to not us it is stupid IMO... But this car will raise in value with time.

I just bought a 964.. U mad?

On a a serious note, the 964 is getting loved lately and now many are selling at the same price level as 993. So that's really not only a question of people being priced out of 993s or SCs G50.. With a $40k budget today you can find SCs and 993s as well as 964s.. Funny that some 993s are not selling quick on rennlist and pelican even if they are under $40k while the base c2 964 are selling fast.

A guy on Rennlist compiled asking prices on recent listings for 993s (in USD). Is there anything similar for the 964?
IMO, if the 55kCAD can be wiggled down a bit and the engine is dry, I think this is a good buy given the current market.
Buying a 35kUSD 100k mile car in the states will come out to almost the same price in the end. And you can pass this 964 off at 1CAD at the SAAQ lol.
