Thousands of people have ripped out their Hicas/4ws/AWS system over the years because the systems are twitchy when pushed hard. The concept is great, but the execution so far has been, well, a little shabby. The GT3 is the finest example but in most cases 4ws system have been great for parking and not much else.
Who said they're twitchy when pushed hard? It has been proven throughout the years that it increases stability at high speeds. You have to drive it accordingly however!! The car OBVIOUSLY doesn't behave the same way as a car with a "locked" rear end. Some people don't like the fact the rear is steering "itself" and don't like the feeling of "not being in control". The car has to be driven and pushed a different way.
What it actually comes down to MOST OF THE TIME are the electronics and extra components... but that can be said about almost anything in cars today... Extra maintenance for components no one really maintains, and the possibility of potential failure. It's not unheard of cars just stuck in the "wheels-out" position or critical parts failing. This is why people delete it... Just spend time and read why people delete it. Most of them don't have an answer, while others do it to drift, others do it because they want to avoid extra maintenance, others do it so they can have the "normal" feeling of a car taking curves,...
How are YOU so damn sure 4ws isn't just some gimmick that was shoved down the R&D and engineering department by marketing in the 80's? It's almost obselete today, save some high end cars that either need the turning radius to be shortened, or very exotic sports car which can steer wheels individually like the GT3.
COMPANIES ARE STILL PRODUCING A GIMMICK FROM THE 80'S CLOSE TO 30 YEARS LATER!!!! WTF man! serious?! Because it has been proven with numbers and performance. When has Honda really developed/marketed some useless bullshit? Might as well say VTEC is some gimmick from the marketing team as well!
People are not ready to pay the steeper price when 99% of people just DD their car. To monsieur et madame tout-le-monde, it's a gimmick and to the "hardcore" purists, it's also a gimmick.
Don't feel compelled to respond, I'm not expecting anything more than a "LOL" and another insult from your part. I don't care really.
