Honest read on ownership of a Ferrari 360

Good read on Jalopnik. Such is the result of owning sports cars where they cannot be enjoyed.

They're coming for it next week. The shipping company, that is. They're picking up the Ferrari, taking the keys, putting it inside a trailer, and transporting it far away to a new owner, thus bringing to an end my childhood dream of owning a Ferrari. I should be downtrodden; dismayed; depressed. I should take time to gaze at it longingly during the last few days before its departure. I should take it on one final drive with tears welling up in my eyes. I should be browsing AutoTrader for a new one.

Now, I shouldn't say that I don't like attention on the road. In fact, I loved it when people would approach me at gas stations, restaurants, or stoplights when I was driving my E63 AMG wagon or my CTS-V wagon. But that's because those were car people, eager to discuss one of the most unusual — and most subtle — cars on the road. In the Ferrari, it's everyone, coming at you from all sides, asking personal questions about how I can afford it, and what it cost, and what I do for a living. After a while, it simply gets old.

La plupart des inconvenients qui cite s appliquent aussi a ma voiture et je ne la déteste pas pour autant.


Pour avoir eu une 360 Modena pour une journée outre le son et te dire que tu es dans une ferrari j ai pas trouvé ca exceptionnel. L intérieur est boff et vieilli mal et ca tire pas.

Mais c est quand meme spécial ca reste une Ferrari. Qui look encore pas mal aux yeux de mr et madame tlm.

Pour pour 80-100k$ used pour un potentiel de paquet de troubles... Tu as de très bon pick neuf ou presque neuf.

Bref, un jour je vais avoir une F430 Spyder et je viendrai faire un compte rendu de la sorte.. :p
 
On voit ben que le gars est amateur de voitures OEM confortables seulement...

Mis à part l'attention des gens (et encore là...), on peut appliquer tout ça à avoir une Honda Civic modifiée... (Droppé à terre, grosses modifications moteur, vidé à l'intérieur donc 2 places, bruyant, etc etc)

C'est l'essence même d'avoir une voiture de performance et il n'est pas capable de supporter ça. Perso j'endure très bien ma boite à savon qui a les mêmes "contraintes" que lui ou presque, et ça ne change rien à mon appréciation vis-à-vis celle-ci.

point valide, seulement, tu n'as certainement pas payé 120 000$ pour ca, non? C'est peut être plus ca qui le dérange, autant d'argent pour si peu...
 
I dissagree! I am a ferrari owner, i work many hours, have 2kids, and have very little time to drive my cars, but every single time i do, it puts a HUGE grin on my face

I used to be a Ferrari fanboy (hence the username , Enzo Ferrari saceone Scuderia Ferrari) but not anymore. I like their sound and that's about it. I saw one hit the wall at tremblant (430) coming out of bridge... WOT + rain + BOOM
 
I drove a Ferrari at iCar last year.

I didn't HATE it but I didn't like it, found it too big and noisy but I can see why some people like it but I couldn't ever justify the price of owning a car like that, even if I were a billionaire I think I'd settle for a GTR as an "exotic" and even then, I'd probably get too much looks.

That level of attention would drive me nuts.

I value my privacy.

Exclusivity and prestige have a price to pay.

You can keep you Nissan, I'll get this instead
