Kenny U-pull random observations...

I go up there with my buddy every two weeks or so and we have noticed a pattern with some people grabbing the most random shit ever. At first we thought it could be trolling but today proves it's not however here are some back tales.

1st time- I was removing on bits off a Volvo V70 when a random guy comes up, pokes around the car, takes a hose clamp from the engine bay pockets it. He then goes inside the car, peeks around confused then grabs the glove box door rips it off literally and walks away. I continue removing my part under the hood, as I'm walking back to the front I see him at a Mazda 3 taking the caps off the reservoirs :S

2nd time- I see a guy standing at the cash with a stack of very used brake pads, rotors that looked as if they came off a Protege.. Really? Are the 20$ brake pads from any auto parts store that expensive?

Today- 93 W124 400E I was taking off some bits and pieces I'd like to have as spares for my E420. I'm working under the hood grabbing some connectors/modules etc when a I see a random guy browsing the car from the corner of my eye as I'm always paranoid someone wants to steal my tools. He ask's me if I'm taking the rad fans and I reply "Nope but those are actually the AC fans" he comes in for a closer inspection pokes the fans with a pry bar then turns around to say "Ahh too complicated to get off" I look up and see his GF standing there with a wheel barrow full of random bits that don't seem to belong together. There are better fan options around the scrap yard Ie off a Civic... He then goes around back and says "Osti Mercedes marde"

I do like going there as they always have interesting cars but I get what I need.. I don't shop for random bits. Perhap's I'm the strange one..

Yeah every times I go there all caps are missing on all cars, go figure. Most of them are worth nothing.

Oh every times I go there there's always a black or immigrant asking me to borrow a tool....

People get them cheap from Kenny, sells them back on kijiji for 5$ more.

I'm 100% convinced the guy that sells those Euro car parts (on jean talon) through Kijji does this.. Don't know if he actually ever sells anything tbh

I was asked for a pair of cutters a few weeks ago. I legit didn't have any on me, just a 10mm ratchet. My friend several rows away had the tools. I told the guy "Sorry, I don't have any" he freaked out. I lulzed . Last year I was there and found a Snap-On 36" prybar, knowing how pricing these are I figured it belonged to the guy that I had seen walking out of the row. Being good guy Greg I went to to find him. When I did he bitched me out saying I was stealing his stuff.. right. I told him next time he deserves to have it stolen or shoved up his ass.

Try and find a windshield washer bottle cover for a 93-99 corolla rarest thing there.

I see idiots smash out windows for no fucking reason.

Yeah I've ssen that too.

Once I was shopping for 60's GM full size clips, brackets and whatnot, small stuff that is too expensive to order online but that I can easily sandblast/wirebrush and paint.

This fat motherfuck comes up to a clean 80's montecarlo, smashes the driver side window with a hammer, then opens the door from the inside latch, leans his fat ass on the front seats (that are now covered in broken glass) and starts looking around under the dash for wiring shit.

What the fuck.

None of the cars are locked, you open the door and get in. What's the fakin point? You're laying down and wiggling around in broken glass for no reason.

Now any interior trim piece will be ruined by the rain in less than a year.

Junkyard etiquette motherfuckers. IT EXISTS.

Ottawa has a nice yard, Gatineau to. I go out of the city to stay away from the retards, sure it costs gas but still enjoyable.

Been to the one in Laval often! Yikes, I got to Ottawa and Gatineau now too! Gonna try St-Sophie. Also, when scrolling through facebook on Kenny site, Laval is the only one that doesn't put description of vehicles. You have to go through every single friggin' picture.

Was in Gatienau with a buddy. 12 noon they put a car in the crusher! My friend yelled "Panini" Perfect timing! *tu*

The best is when people show up there with a Phillips screwdriver and start asking to borrow your tools. "Monsieur, j'ai besoin une clé 12mm, S'IL VOUS PLAIT" No you clown

Junkyard etiquette for sure. How many times have a seen the perfect specimen with window rolled down, broken, door open or even removed and the interior is trashed sighhh.

I went last Sunday did pretty good. We lolld when my buddy didn't want a stamp on his hand and the Somalian "bouncer" refused his entry even tho he showed his "cover charge" bill. Had to get the bill stamped loll.

So this one time Kenny Ottawa was having a 50% off sale. As you can imagine there were lots of people. Met a couple Honda specialists there, and told them I was looking for a CRV because I wanted a B20 to stuff in my Civic wagon.
They point out a couple guys ahead of us in line and say they know they're looking for a crv too.

Of course with my crappy luck they found it first, and I saw them going crazy in the engine bay. After grabbing some things from other cars that I would need for my swap I notice they're gone from the CRV. I go check it out to see if maybe they just took the rad or trans.

NOPE.

Valve cover is off, and one of the cams is broken in half. WHY?!?

Another time I got wind that there was a Civic Wagon there. By the time I was able to go it was gone (sadface). At some point a guy comes up to me asking for help and that he might need a tool. Figured why not. He brings me to an older Chev van and says he needs the HVAC controls. Then asks me to to take it out! HE didn't have any tools.
I don't get it. I understand needing some tool you didn't bring, but come on...

spotted this last year

valve covers off engines are common, usually the Honda's.
