going to Banff, AWARE ME plzzzz

where would you guys recommend to see other than Lake Loiuse? I wanted to book a room there for a night but i think 800$ for be better spent else where lol Even the cheapest 2 star hotel there is 300/night. any "log cabin" type of accommodations available?
Any Tours that's a must see?

Canmore is a beautiful little town with nice peps. Not far from Banff at all.
Lodging is cheaper.. I stayed there at Canadian Lodge (look caa hotel book) a 3 and half app
80$bfor a night or sum. It was mid may :)
Go see Johnston Canyon to far again from Banff
Other advice be friendly to a local for night out.... They know the best spot for perfect time ;)
 
drive a little bit more and visit Lake Moraine, it's actually the lake that was on the old 20$ bill, which people confused with Lake Louise. I was actually there this exact date 2 years ago! lol

also, to get the best view, go up the gondola of sulfur mountain, it's expensive but definitely worth it.
 
Recommend to wrap it, STD capital of Canada.

Beautiful though, have spent a lot of time there in the winter - not so much summer.

Johnston Canyon for sure! One of my favourite spots.

If it's your first time in Banff, I would just keep it simple. You could spend months there and not see everything.
I'd probably check out the Cave and Basin at Sulphur Mountain, do the gondola, maybe some hot springs then go to Johnston Canyon and do the hike.

As mentioned, Moraine Lake is awesome too;

If you do go to Lake Louise, go for a swim! I jumped in a couple years ago and started hyperventilating like a bitch. The water rarely gets above 5 degrees, even in the summer.

Have fun! My first time driving into the Rockies was practically a religious experience...
 
J'y suis allé en train à partir de MTL il y a 2 ans, vraiment super place. On restait à Canmore aussi, moins cher que Banff et facile d'y aller. On avait payer pour "extra mountain view", mais en fait il y a des montagnes partout là alors fait pas ça lol

4 nuits 3 jours sur le train pour ce rendre à Vancouver, débarqué à Jasper après 2 jours et conduit jusqu'à Canmore/Banff en passant par icefield parcway. C'est vraiment une belle place.

Drive thru Banff take a few pics of other tourists taking pics.
keep going to Revelstoke head south towards Nakusp and enjoy everything green and hot springs and top notch trout fishing. And bring a gun the Wolves are vicious and the samsquantch is rampant.

Rafting the kicking horse is dope. Its running hard now.

Tu as une auto? Equipement de camping?

Si tu veux sortir un peu a Banff, il y a le brew pub : http://www.banffavebrewingco.ca/ et aussi le tommy's si tu veux pas payer 10$/biere http://tommysneighbourhoodpub.com/. Il y a aussi un nouveau bar avec des alle de bowling qui parrait que c'est vraiment cool mais je n'ai pas encore essayer.

Dans le plus chere je te suggere d'aller au moins prendre un verre la: http://www.parkdistillery.com/ la deco est vrmt cool et les drinks sont bons.

Si jamais tu vas a Lake Louise, je te conseil de monter au lac agnes tea house http://www.lakeagnesteahouse.com/index.php petite hike tranquille de 1h et la vue est superbe! Tu as de belle prise de vue du chateau et du lac Louise tout au long. Si le coeur t'en dit, tu partir du tea house et monter le Big Behive. De la tu as la plus belle vue sur le lac, chateau et station de ski.

Si jamais tu ne veux pas payer pour la gondole du mont sulphur, tu peux monter en auto pour aller au mont de ski Norquay de l'autre cote du village. En montant tu a des places pour arreter et regarder la ville de Banff de haut. P-e pas aussi beau que la gondole mais presque pareil pour gratiss!

Si jamais tu es en auto, je te conseil de faire au moins une fois la route entre Banff et Lac louise par la 1A... plus long mais de beaux paysages et bcp de chances de voir des animaux.

Johnston canyon est tres bien aussi!
 
If you like hiking Yoho is a beautiful hike and you can get a backcountry cabin. Its really nice. Tons of fossils in the shale also. The Athabasca glacier up the icefields highway is always worth the drive. Its my favorite highway in Canada.

If you need any backcountry camping gear you can rent it all at the university of Calgary for a fair price

If you wanna book a day Rafting I can get a group together for that. Pm me if interested

La gondole à Banff, la vue est juste folle, mais fuck 30 balles (à mon souvenir) c'est un peu raide comme prix.

À Banff le bar Devil's Gap est vraiment nice drinks are cheap as hell (vodka 7up genre 2.50)

Ask local for real hot spring too not the boring tourist one...!
