Thread title should be changed to "How do you split expenses with your wife/husband/BF/GF" :)

LOL seriously, but while we're at it let me continue the thread jacking.

No joint account here. We have an Excel sheet budget that we do together monthly Since my wife's pay is variable based on the hours she gets we divide the monthly expenses as a percentage of our pay. If I make $5000, she makes $2500 and for simple calculation sake our expenses are $750, she pays $250 I pay $500 but we both pay 10% of our earnings. Similarly if we make the same money the next month, we pay 50/50.

We don't care who pays what at the time since we use our CCs strategically for points but at the end of the month one of us sums their monthly expenditures and we send difference to the other accordingly.

Oh, and personal purchases are not considered in the shared expenses.

I simply started eight weeks past and i have gotten four check for a complete of $4,150...this is the most effective call I created in a very long time! "Thank you for giving American state this extraordinary chance to create more money from home. I know this will probably generate alot of questions and flaming but my gf and I split everything 50/50 but we DON'T have a merged account, even with a kid.

We have both our accounts and we have managed like that for the past 10 years and will continue on like that.

I pay a bit more on extras because I make a bit more but we don't calculate every penny since we both make decent salary and have decent money in investments and on the side.

Is don't see why you would be flamed, we got all kind of answers in this thread, numerous like yours actually...
