Just in case this happened to someone

tonight, while I was driving, all of a sudden the battery warning light and the handbrake light lit up.

Then, when I was in neutral, the car started going from 1000rpm to 1500... in rapid succession.

an hour later, the check engine light is also lit up and the sound is really strange... when I listen in the back I see the engine doesn't seem to be running smoothly at all.

now, it kinda stopped going from 1000 to 1500 but stays at 1200... when in neutral it's usually 800

anyone had this happen??? Just taking a chance if someone might know what is happening

by the way, I have a 2003 cl-s 6-speed

The ecu is doing something stupid, whatever it may be,
simply reset your ecu and it should solve your problem,
for this disconnect the negative battery terminal, go inside
the car, press on the brake for 20seconds, and than
reconnect the battery, and your cel should be cleared and
the problems with it, it prolly just sensed something
it didnt like and started acting up.

just tried it... the check engine light is now off but the battery light is still on... the handbrake light too and the engine still goes from 1000rpm to 1500 in 1 sec intervals.

thanks a lot anyway, it was very nice of you

I wouldn't do that. Your car is under warranty. Bring it to the dealer and have them check the codes so they can actually fix the problem. That's what warranties are for. If you clear it, you will have to wait till the problem happens again and who knows where you might be when it happens (highway=dangerous).

Check your fuses in the fuse box, there should be one in the engine
compartment, and one inside the car by the drivers footwell.

Yeh true what GtStang said, but it really sounds like a minor glitch
with the electronics..........

thanks marteen... will do that to

topless... to late, already tried... hehe... but anyways, it keeps doing it non-stop

These things always happen on fridays when you have to spend all the weekend paying for a rental

Oh well , I think it's really time for you to trade this POS for a brand new 2005 Stang bro... LOL :D

The rental car was'nt that bad either

Thegodz is right..happened to me on my sentra...
I was driving, driving and all of a sudden, those two lights came on, DRL stopped working... but everything seems fine... until the one day, a friday as well, the car died...

It's the alternator...:)

I think it's exactly the same problem as you digitized. I'll try to bring the car at the shop on tuesday.

what a waste of time.
