Help pick out oil grade for my motor.

Hey its time to change my oil, and I was wondering whats the best grade to use.
I have 90000km on a 95' vr6. I have read up a lot on the numerical system of oils, but I can't make a decision.

I have heard good things about motul and mobile.

Anyways suggestions would be nice, thanks.

Isnt it a bit too thick? where can you get cheap bosch filters, I had a hookup at autoelectra, but he left.
 
No it's not, it is obviously a little thicker than a 5w or a 10w, but once you get to the operating engine temperature, you really need that 50, VR6's run very hot. It will also quiet down your lifters and chain a little :bigup:
15w50 for summer
5w30 for winter

I run 10w40 in mine. Mobil1. If you want the car to scream AGIP oil is the way to go . I used to only run that in my old one but it screamed
 
Yeah I am thinking 10w40 also now ( porsche,bmw,vw approved) .... 15w50, I am scared of temp rise and loos of power.

I also heard 5w40 isnt bad.

0w40 I am not using, my lifters make enough noise as it is.

Thats what I'll put in my new GTi 2K 1.8T, still full synthetic....!!!
 
I always ran mobil1 10W40 with stock filter....it worked perfectly and I would run it again....

I just did my oil change, I put AMSOIL,100% synthetic 10W40,expensive but you can never go rong with high quality oil.
 
Scraptire only has 15w40 ($25 good price for 4 liters), do any of you know if wal-farts has 10w40?

Yeah I just dont have enough balls to put in 15w40.... rising temp.. more friction.. lower hp... People have either praised it or complained.

you need more then 4 litres for the oil change. I hope you know that
 
Mobil 1 5W40 is perfect. Not all stores have it yet its pretty new...or you can just get Delvac 1 5W 40 at walmart(its Mobil 1 for diesels but works perceftly in gas cars too)
 
Yeah dont worry, I am gona buy 3-4liters for 2 oil changes. I think mine takes something like 5.5.

R32 uses 5w40 from the factory, might give that a swirl.
