I was cruising on Newman blvd in LaSalle last wednesday when I saw that orange convertible Mustang in my rear-view mirror....I didn't expected it to be more than a normal GT, but to my surprise it was a Cobra. Nothing strange so far, other than the aftermarket wheels he had seems to have to incorrect backspacing because they were sticking out of the fender about 1in 1/2 on both side, a bit funny looking if you ask me....
Anyway like I said, nothing strange.......just until he pass me, it had all kind of badges and stickers on the rear bumper, but the one who caught my attention was the word "S H E L B Y" writting in very square silver letter, it was obvious that it wasn't a factory decal or anything....
So anyway, I stop next to him at the next light, roll down my window, and ask him why he put all those badges and specially that "S H E L B Y" sticker in the back of his car ??? He reply to me that it's a 2004 Shelby special edition SVT Cobra, only 100 built and his was #76. I was like WHAT ?????? Then the light turn green and I didn't bother try to follow him. Now that clown is saying that he has one of the rarest Mustang on the planet, because just to remind you guys, Shelby didn't put his name on ANY Mustang since 1970 (excluding the '67 GT-500 Mustang that Unique Performance start building not long ago), and even more rare than a 2000 Cobra R (300 built)
This caught my interest, and I went ahead to have more info on those 100 2004 Shelby SVT Cobra, even if I knew right from the beginning I was searching for nothing. The only thing I found is this bozo who was registered on stangnet.net, which he got banned for some reasons ( I wonder what they can be ????
), who was bragging about his 1 of 100 built Shelby 2004 SVT Cobra, which btw no one believed, and even went ahead and post Photoshoped SVT certificate, a picture of a Carroll Shelby autograph on his glovebox and a picture taken a mile away of a Shelby replica authenticity plate under his hood.
Anyway, just had to tell you guys, because I can't understand why somebody with a 50K$ car has to make up a story to make him feel his car is more valuable that it already is.....and worse, that he believe in his own lies.....
Saw him again the very next day at the Carrefour Angrignon..... Anyone else seen that guy ??? Apparently his name is Michel
