I know there are a few great car detailers on this forum. I'd like to share some of my work and knowledge in car detailing.

This weekend was just so great and nice to do the spring detail to my car. I use a PC7024 with 6.5" Lake country pads. Menzerna products and BlackFire wax/polishes.

I did a 4 step process as I highly believe that Claying is essential on car detailing. So here are my step by step method:

- Wash (two buckets method, lamb mitt, micro fiber waffle drying towel, sop vac blower)
- Clay (Blackfire detail spray and clay bar)
- Swirl remover (Menzerna Intensive Polish)
- Polish (Menzerna Final Polish II)
- Wax/Sealant (Menzerna FMJ or Blackfire wet diamond)

So here are some pics to show the works!!!! enjoy. Sorry for the biggy pics

First.. the car without any make up and after going through our tough winters. Last time it was detailed was back in september. Note the swirls near the gaz door.

So the process begins with a two bucket wash method. 1 is clean water and the other one with soap. After going through a dirty side I then clean the mitt on the clean water. This is to minimize swirls as most of the swirls are created during wash. Those automatic car washes are your car's paint worst enemy. Not only it created swirls but the strong detergents take off any wax/protection, this is why they offer you their "hot liquid wax"

Wheels are important as they play a good factor on a clean car.

It is ideal to polish the mags as most of them have a clear coat.

Now the car looks clean right?

Let's see what the CLAY says about that!!!!!

Dirty.. and this is just from the rear. Usually the dirtiest is the roof and the hood. Clay bars remove all contaminants, brake dust and more. Usually washing and polishing do not remove this contaminants. This will make the car paint feel so smooth and make the polish/wax bond better with the clear coat.

Now to the second process! SWIRL REMOVER
You remember the photo after the car was washed? it looked great right.. well lighting shows paint imperfections, and thankfully the sun was out to show some nasty swirls. Most of them formed from this winter.

You can still see some swirls.. but no worries.. the polish (Menzerna Final Polish) will take care of those

Masking all rubber parts are masked with a blue or green masking tape.. leaves no ressidue

Everything with a clear coat is worthy of detailing.. this is the door trim

And now some final pictures after all 4 steps!!!

Reflections look so much better without swirls:

Some people say my car is Black.. but it's actually Blue ming

And you know what they say: "My car has 4 rings but my girlfriend has none"
247741958.jpg

And to finish it up.. a car cannot be full detailed without washing the engine!!
