BMW M3 CSL vs. Porsche GT3 vs. Subaru STI Spec C

How crazy is this?

http://web2.nasioc.com/forums/showth...hreadid=420268

The big difference between my car and the Spec C is:

-35 HP difference (I think my car is running an extra 35HP with the mods)

-90 KG (I am 35KG down)

-No A/C

-Different Springs

-Different camber settings

Other than that, how wild is it that a Subaru is compared to these beautiful cars! And remember this article is not a car and driver article, it's an EVO article, one of the BEST magazines in the world.

Oh yeah here is a Spec C doing 8:06 at the NurenburgRing!

Rob

Rob, you do realize that the Japanese STI and the North American market has one huge difference: THE ENGINE! if you read your thos pictures on the EVO magazine, the WRX STI Spec C (if not mistaken, it's from Japan) it's a 2.0L boxer engine, and yours is a 2.5L. your stock is 300HP and 300lb of torque, I don't know the jap spec exactly! but I think it's 300 and has less torque of something. The weight difference between your car is hard to compare.

Ummm, maybe you meant "Motor trend"? Don't diss on Car & Driver ... they're one of the best "new car" magazines, certainly the best in the US as far as objectivity.

I used to read EVERY car magazine every month... C&D is the only one I still buy.

Your car's in good company, for sure. Not too many $50K econoboxes can get you noticed by the snobs at Tremblant

Intake+resonator 5KG

Spare tire + tools 15KG

Front and rear bumper beams 15KG

Exhaust difference 5-6KG (no cats)

The M3 has the biggest stroke and yet is the one one that revs the highest, weird... And the Porsche 100mm of bore for 76mm of stroke, that thing must be really at ease reving.

The spec c is impresive. Really good bang for the money. I wonder if the 22b is faster?

I think the csl numbers in acceleration seems a bit low... I thought it would be because it's the only left-hand drive of the bunch but it's SMG so it should not have affected the results except maybe on the track time. Bmw should have had made the csl even more extreme. Then it would have been a winner, but now it's a little too muted compared to it's competitor. I still would seel my soul to own one thought

That 3 nice car, reducing weight instead of going for big hp number
