I can go even further into the 2jz swap bible now with the info I will pick up doing this swap in my car. Hopefully step by step, and completely.

As of now, my buddy Eric and I are 3 hours into prepping the engine for removal, its ready to come out at this moment, just missing the engine lift which should be in tomorrow, once I get that picked up it will be the beginning of a long but rewarding road. I'm going to try and get this running on my student budjet right now, if I can get the engine fired by spring, I will be happy.

The motor is a 2JZGTE (JDM) from a Toyota Aristo. I needed to purchase this engine keeping in mind that I needed a front sump oil pan to fit the sub-frame configuration of my car, so the aristo is the perfect candidate, the JZA80 Supra is mid or rear sump, meaning if you wanted to go that route you would need to convert the engine to front sump, with aristo parts, and that gets expensive and the bits can be hard to find if you dont know where to look. So Aristo it was.

Need a rubber engine mount if someone might have one.

I also have some broken vacuum sensors as well, if someone has suggestions of where I could get them locally, if not I have to do some intense forum searching.

Good stuff Jamie!!!

your car is going to be one heck of a sleeper!

I prob have some mounts... problem is I have no clue where! With the house the way it is, I dont expect to find them until end of march when I start cleaning up.

wich sensors are you looking for?

Thanks Nic ;) these are the broken things!

you know what Nic, I would actually be willing to spend a whole afternoon digging through your parts pile, because that is how much I want to see it in that hole I am making  LOL I love houses under construction like you saw haha

if not, je va men trouver un moyen

we do it all the times ... pretty all the race car i've worked on were like that

cheap and it do an amazing job

no luck for the sensors, from me anyway!
You should post on supramania of supraforums for that.

The mounts... I just wish I was sure I have some, dont want to make you loose your time if I have mistaken my facts.

no problems with that!

I actually have a question and I feel stupid asking it haha I have the mounts I bought from you in hand, Just looking at them now, I dont need at all the stock 2j rubber mounts do I? These brackets bolt up right to the block in place of the stock mounts? So I dont even need the mount if so!

you still need the mkII lower mounts (with the rubber on them that is fixed to the crossmember).
The jz mounts bottom hole fits on the bolt of the mkII mounts.
And yeah they bolt right on the block, so take off the oe ones and put these on!

I just hope you didnt get some of the messed-up mounts... meaning the last series were somewhat off in some areas.
Just try to bolt them on the block, see if the holes align well.
If not, mark them up and I'll take care of adjusting them up.

Our production jig distorted in the end... so the last ones wouldnt bolt-in as they should.
We have shut down that product since then. What sucks is that I still have 1k worth of them taking dust and no way for me to use them.

Yeah I understand now, I dont need the JZ rubber mounts at all :) 1 less thing off the list! Is it just a question of drilling the holes larger? if so its really not that big a deal

no no, those are z32 300zx calipers and nissan 350z track rotors. The rx7 4 pot front calipers do fit on the rear of my markII though, straight bolt on, and you use the z32 300zx rear disc, have it redrilled and a centering ring made like I did for the front, but then you have to play with the handbrake to get it to work, havnt done it yet so I dont know whats required to make it work.

I'm probably going to make have a bracket made, or make it myself at school to use the matching rear nissan calipers, looks more legit and the brake balance wont be as thrown off.

For the transmission, I havnt found one yet but I'm going to use the r154 but....no one has them in stock....no one. And the ones they can get they want 3x what they are worth. So I'm surfing the supra boards a bit looking in the states. I need the jz bellhousing too if I can get one used.
