Sensor. You could have a short to ground somewhere along the wire. ONe the only shorts when it touchs the body or the block.. chech to see if and of your wiring is exposed.

found the problem... but have another question! ;)

the level is too high! when I was looking for the level it was already too high (when the light lit for the first time...) but I though it was lower than what I could see... so I added some more... now I saw the level and it is higher than the max so that's why the sensor is freaking...

now my question is : Is it bad to have the coolant level too high? I mean it never busted the cap (never overflowed)... should I remove some or can I leave it like that?

thanks for answering!

Too high in the overflow tank?
It shouldnt be bad, if you really want to, you can siphon some out just to be sure.

The reason you see more coolant in the overflow tank (I suppose right after you've driven for awhile) is because the heat of the engine causes the coolant to expand, and it fills more space in the reservoir. Find out what your specs are, and if you have the facilities, it never hurts to change coolant; this would also give you a good opportunity to change your thermostat, and any hoses and what not which are leaking, if any.

Also, yes, it is a bad thing to have too much coolant in your car. The manufacturer gives specs for this reason. I can't quite remember why, but check this space later on for details. I left my textbook at school, and have obviously got to brush up on my cooling details!
