Ask me in English! :)
HE wants info on old cars, like what price to pay for a car like this top-dollar, and more info on the engines .... why does a '65 have a 429cj, and his dad's old '67 only has a 428cj ???

what he did not mention was if we are talking 2 or 4 doors, which if you asked me would make the biggest diference in dollar value...a 2 door should be worth around 5 to 6 grand , a comapriable 4 door would probably top out at 3500$
These cars have no real desirablity amonst collectors, but would make a real nice driver to someone ....as for the engine differences , i have no clue if the '65 really had a 429cj stock(i'm thinking this may have been added afterwards for what ever reason) but it is true that back then you had sooooo many option packages, it is quite possible that it just depended on whick box was checked on the order sheet when the original buyer ordered the car ......most manufactuers had at least 6 v8 choices for there cars back in the sixties ..........

429CJ was not available until 1970 and mostly in Torinos from what I remember. The 428 CJ/SCJ came out in 1968 in Mustangs, Cougars, etc. There was a 428 available before that though...

Sorry I don't mean to high-jack this thread but I would have a question for the Ford crowd.

My father's 1967 ChrisCraft boat has 2 x 427 engines.
They are Ford blocks (I thought they would be Chevy at first but saw the oval logo stamped) with special Chriscraft heads, cam and all.
we also have a third (yes, third!) complete 427 Ford engine sitting in the garage.

In what cars did those engines come stock?
Any source for replacement/performance parts?
What would be the market value for a full, marine spec, Ford 427 that turned for only a couple of hours here and there for the last 37 years (never been installed, everything is greased)

Merci pour les infos.. Je vais essayer d'en savoir plus sur le char et je vous en reparle. Thanks for all the information thanks again..

well, this is my father's stuff, I can ask this week-end, but I don't think it's for sale

he payed like 5k$ more for the third spare engine when he bought the boat, and I think it was cheap
don't forget this is a marine spec, it says ChrisCarft 300hp on the heads

it didn't run for more than a couple of hours, in 37 years, was always meant to be a spare, and may continue being a spare for many years to come...

I can tell you, that thing was more than heavy in the pick-up bed (has a huge tranny, plus cast-iron water cooling ducts and pumps around it)
