Bike theft and other mishaps...

I will soon get my 6A and am thinking of getting a sportsbike.
On the other hand, I'm very concerned about:
1. People's general disrespect towards bikers on the road
2. Bike theft

Now, I can deal with idiots on the road by being careful. But I can't do s**all for an idiot that bumps my bike or steals it.
What do you suggest as alarm / theft prevention system?
I see people's bikes parked on St-Catherine's, but I don't know if I'd park mine there for more than 10 minutes. Would you??

Ton assureur va probablement te demander de faire graver ta moto (sherlock):thumbsdow...totalement inutile!

La meilleur chose est de toujours avoir un oeil sur ton "bike"et d'avoir un "12" pas loin...jusqu'a ou un c***** de sale voudrai partir avec :zie:

i think the best is an alarm and a secure location (if there is such existance ?!) bike thieves usually work in teams, and they don't ride the bike, they load it in trucks, cube vans, whatever.

it's a matter of a few seconds, whether it's wheel locked or not.

i'm very skeptical about leaving my bike in the street. And when i get my R6, woah- it's gonna stay locked in my garage under a blanket with an alarm..

Je suis tout a fait d'accord avec toi, sauf qu'on a pas toute la chance d'avoir acces a un garage!

Pour ceux que la moto doit coucher dehors (dans la cour), la meilleur facon de proteger son bike ces sans aucune doute un cobralinks(chaine concu la base pour empecher le vole d'Harley).
Bien sur ca te prend quelque chose de terriblement solide pour attacher ta chaine comme un poteau d'escalier ou d'hydro.

L'alarme c'est juste pour t'avertire qu'un ou des c***** de sales touche a ton bike!

Il y a d'autre petit truc, mais ca, je garde ca pour la prochaine fois qu'un sale va avoir l'idee de ce pousser avec mon bebe

sherlock c'est quand meme bon, je me suis fait voler ma 929 dans la 1ere année et j'ai recu un cheque de sherlock de 1000$ plus le remboursement de mes assurance du 200$ que j'ai payé pour faire buriner la moto.

dans la 2e année c'est 750$ et la 3e 500$

si tu laisse ta moto dehors , cobralink, c'est ça que j'avais à la maison......yon volé la moto à job batard

C'est poche qu'il ait autant de vols de moto....
il y a a peu pres rien qu'on puisse faire..... Avec Cobralink ouais je me sentirais mieux de laisser ma moto, mais quand meme...

Toute les bikes burines apres Mars 2001, Sherlock ne donne plus de compensation en cas de vole. Comme je me suis faite vole au mois de juin, j'ai eu le droit a rien.:angry:

Si c'est comme ça maintenant, là ça vaut plus la peine de payer pour buriner sa moto.

C'est peut être pour ça qua ça pris 5 mois avant qui paye, j'ai du les appeler au moins 10 fois.

J'ai fait burine mon cbr f4i au mois de mai 2001 et je me suis fait voler 3 semaines plus tard, donc c'est pour ca que je n'ai pas eu le droit au remboursement
