I installed a Pioneer radio into my moms 93 Passat and it doesent shut off with taking the key out, does someone know whay it doesent and please help me out before i install one into my 97 jetta

my friend had that problem. Although it looks as if you've hooked it up to a continous source. Make sure its hooked up through the ACC wire, and not one coming directly off the battery!

Use a test light to figure out which wire is HOT AT ALL TIME and which one is HOT IN ACCESSORY
On my car i don't have a HOT IN ACCESSORY wire......just continuous power source....i just shut off the radio....:D

no... how are old people?

hang on while I go get my Dad so he can read your reply!

(remember in your next reply, post your address, and time you'll be home.)

Just take lots of black electric tape and cover up the whole front of the head unit. And when you decide to use the radio, just remove the electric tape so you can see and access everything again. You will probably only be able to re-use the pieces of black electric tape a few times, so keep a roll handy in the glove compartment at all times.
