You can make your M3 take off from a stop at 5000 rpm!!! heres how (ps this is a hidden feature in the SMG copmuter software in the M3).
Step 1. Go to your dealer and ask him/her to install the European software (The North American software limits the maximum at 2500rpm)
Step2. Switch off the stability system
Step3. Select shift program 6.
Step4. Switch the engine to sport mode.
Step5. With the hand shifter in drive, hold it in the down shift position and press the gas pedal, (you'll see the engine rev up to its preprogrammed rpms) and hold.
Step6. Release the shifter.......
Step7. Watch the meter go
PS be ready to upshift since the rpms go up FAST.
PPS your transmission (VERY VERY UNLIKELY) can implode, so dont do this too often
PPPS I Got this info from a popular science magazine, so dont accuse me of plagiarising or something. I just got it today and I figured why not feed it to all the racers in MTL right away.
Anyways don't burn up the track too badly.
