Problem with my cap

I have a problem. I have a 1 farad capacitor that I bought for $25, which is great. The problem is the positive bourne is stripped. I was thinking either one of two thing. First: Bring it to canadian tire, get it rebored a bit bigger and get a bigger bolt to fit in there. The thing I'm scared though is I don't know if I can bore into that (I don't think it will be a problem), but also the bolt I have now is covered in gold, will it matter at all it the new one isn't? My other option is to keep the same bolt but solder everything in place so it doesn't move.

What do you guys think?

I had the same problem......i just took a bigger bolt and made new threads....my negative born is the gold plated bolt that came with the cap.......and my positive one is the one i bought from Reno-Depot...Stainless Steel..........didn't have a problem with it.....
