A guy over a maxima.org just got into the 12s with his Natural Aspirated maxima... a first that I know of:

Not bad for an N/A V6 grocery getter...

He was up against a V6 mustang on that run. NA V6 against NA V6. With RWD and .3 more of displacement it manages to be over 3 seconds slower. Poor V6 mustangs, who doesn't like picking on them? (Unless they're supercharged)

I think he did a few 12s passes last year too.

What is impressive is the 7500 rpm limit

and his only internal mod are the ARP Rod bolts (80$?) which is the real VQ35DE weak link.

No, it's his first 12sec pass. There are some maximas in the 12s and 11s, but they are all boosted.

He only revs it to 7200, says it's not worth going above that, but it can be fixed. One guy revs to 8000 on his 3.0 with stock internals. He's talking about 8500.

Yeah but having TechnoSquare modified the mapping for a 8K RPM has been an hassle if I remember well!

12,850 for the mods is a real good time!
Slick rulez!

My Build N/A 2.5 RS revved to 8000rpm. I had a 14.10 at napi, but the tuning was never perfected on it. Built N/A=a lot of headaches, trust me!

Not if you have reasonable displacement.

A turbo is just as much trouble, and less reliable/more $$$$.

that's a badass

I think it has 12.6-12.5s in it. Notice the 1.94 60'. Maximas in the 12s can get 1.7s 60' with good slicks and a well adjusted rear suspension (to counter weight transfer).
