typo in name on ticket

so I'm having an argument with someone in my class that a typo in his last name as inscribed on the ticket will get him off. I say that it will not void the ticket and he says yes???

You are right, it will NOT void the ticket.

They can write "Dumbo McFarlane" as the name for all it matters as long as the drivers license number is correct is correct on the ticket

what ARE the tyos that can get you free and clear on a ticket?

Mistake in drivers licence number;
Mistake in licence plate number;
Error in infraction;
Error in time ticket was handed to you (ex. infraction time 10h19, ticket handed 10h05)

There are more, but those are the one I can think of.
