this is kinda dumb, how do you pay your ticket?

i got my first ticket yesterday for blowing a red on notredame at 3am yesterday. im not looking to contest it, he let me off easy considering i didnt have my own insurance (i was driving my friends car, he was drunk so i drove instead). I just want to pay it and not let my parents find out. Do i have to mail it back in with the money or do i have to go the the actual police station. The question is pretty dumb, but i havent had the chance to ask anyone yet so i thought id ask here.

where I live, you can't pay at the police station, of u have Accès D it's pretty easy!
