I would like to know if there is a good tuning shop around montreal area where I could do a balancing, port/polish of my brand new VQ35 engine (3.5 L V6). I will be an owner of that kind of car in December and I would like to do it during the winter.

Did somebody have done that kind of job on his car ?
What were the results ?

Thanks,

hmm porting the 3.5... didn't know it could be done...
well i know it's useless on my engine :( 3.0L... someone managed to get 3.1 or 3.2 out of it... wasn't really worth it :(

if it can be done with the 3.5L then cool :)

port and polish is almost useless on nissan heads. they flow more than enough stock. wait for the supercharger/turbo kits to come out and youll be freaking out at the power.

Porting doesnt make your displacement greater :)

It just helps the flow.

BTW, the Nissan 350Z GT (Nissan's production Race car) is stroked to 3.6 litters and with a few goodies, produces 450HP N/A.

so I guess, stroking it, does help :)

About a place do to this kind of work. Well, I dont know anyone who knows the VQ35DE well yet.

But I have 2 suggestions.

One, TKM (TK Motion), listed in the shops on montrealracing.com

He can do magic with any engine.

Second, my buddy had a Orange 1972 240z last summer, had the engine rebuilt by someone in Laval, who is a Z specialist. Now although the 350Z is brand new, Id trust him more than any joe blow... except maybe Tom :D

If your interested, let me know, I'll ask my buddy for his Name and Number.
