Hmmm....just wondering what that is and what does it do???

Ho's the expert here that will be able to explain it the better!!

The best answer is a visual answer.
3 angle valve job is the # of angles on the seat.
30,45 and 60 degrees is a standard 3 angle valvejob.

The best would be to pass by the shop and I'll show you;)

Call me:)

What exactly are the advantages of having this done compared to leaving it stock and simple polishing and porting the rest?

what about them 5 angle valve jobs?
also you don;t port and polish valve seats? you cut them larger diameter and larger valves.:dunno:

Thanks TKM...I might just come by the shop one day and ask tons of questions...

BTW..If you happen to need a young mechanic..PM me!!! (edit: Not me!!...)

Again its a visual thing guys.

5 angle standard VJ is 15,30,45,60,75 degrees.
This helps the air flow transition over the valve and seat.
A standard VJ dosen't help alot(5%) but a Race VJ helps up to 30% on flow.

As for bigger valves doesn't always help , as a matter of fact sometimes it kills power.
Porting is like anything else , You can learn how to paint but will never be a Picasso!
Anyone can port but only a few can make tons of power!

Its the same for paintings , You can't sell your painting at the same price as Picasso's painting.

Remember this when shopping around for porting jobs !
You get what you pay for so don't think you get a head that flows good for 200-750 cause you are actually getting a looks good but don't work and we have a Flowbench to back up what we preech!
We welcome anyone to test their heads and see for themselves what real flow is all about!

The 45 degree angle is what seals the seat with the valve;)

The other 2-4 angles help out the flow:bigup:

The angles vary from one porter to the next (secret)
I can say what the standard angles are but I have a special blend which is why ordinairy valvejobs cost 80 and 3-5 angle cost 200-350;)

A standard 3-5 angle valve job helps 1-5% but a TK 3-5 helps 10-25%.

You would be amazed to see how different angles change and improve the flow:D
