Re: alpine and legacy
Well, I only saw Alpine being good for HUs, and I know they are. As opposed to what 4drs... said they are good for those. As for subs and amps by Alpine, I havent ever used them personally so I can't comment on those. And as far as Pyramid goes, don't expect it to have good SQ, and as for SPL, less then sufficient for the amount of poer your going to need to put through it. Besides to get any kind of good sound out of a 15" you'll need about a 3 cubic foot box. Personnally, I'd stick with a good 10" or 12" setup. And I prefer a sealed box, so right there I know I wouldn't have room for that 15" cause a sealed box usually needs to be bigger then ported. But there are advantages and dis-advantages to both. After my basement is finished, with the leftover sheets of plywood we have I'm going to see how well I can put together a nice bandpass box, with a sealed rear chamber and a slotted front, if it works out, I'll make one to hold 2 10"s. thast my winter project! Damn did I ever go off topic here. Anyways, I bored at work and I had to vent.
Anyways, my point, was you'll never see a 15" in my car, even if it would fit. I personally like to have SQ over SPL, and 15s just arent right for good sound quality!
