WRX reliability?

are these subaru's reliable?
i heard the wrx's have a lot of transmission problems, that true?
whats the main problems wit the wrx??

id like to hear what you wrx owners have to say!

Pre-2003 WRX's have a known issue with the ring land seals, otherwise they are among the most reliable cars around. The Tranny issue is common among ALL AWD cars with good power.. they don't like being launched off the line hard. If you don't drag race it, don't worry about your tranny.

Exactly, and if your going to modify it, don't take it to just any shop, their a little fickle to tune.

the 5 speed is a "weak" point- but its pretty reliable until 300whp

the only thing thats been wrong with my car in a year and a half was the o2 sensor and fog lights burning out
