I know TK and some others maybe able to explain this. I know what it is and how it bolts on, but I want to know how it actually achieves anything, where it contacts the crank, what it stiffens, etc...
block girdle : plate that retain crank main cap ( all of them ) , it prevent the cap from flexing and made it stronger .where it is : sit on top of the main cap and retain by the cap bolt . bult a stronger bottom end
block guard : plate that prevent the cylinder from flexing .the block guard is install on the top of the engine block , the top of it sit flush with the block deck . purpose of it : it hold the cylinder wall .
