What's better in terms of power, reliability and service between a Vortec supercharger or a Whipple supercharger for a 6.0L GMC motor?
Thanks!!

sudgest the whipple, for sure if it"s going into a truck. these things make huge amounts of torque and are very reliable. Vortec's are good as well but are more suited for horsepower and require more plumbing than the whipple wich can be made to look almost stock in under the hood. thats my two cents!

A truck motor such as the 6.0 GMC would benefit more from a roots type of blower such as the twin screw whipple models or the kenne bells. The reason being centrifugal superchargers do not create as much torque at low rpm when compared to a roots type blower; the name of the game for a truck is torque and the roots has it. As for reliability and service, both models are quality products and the product will require minimal service (unless you start adding boost)
