Ya sc430...awesome car but not scary fast...raced against one on the highway with my friend's T5, he couldn't move an inch away from us and we were 4 in the car!

IS 300 with a supra conversion??? I think you mean the Altezza conversion??? it would take alost of work to shoehorn a supra 6cy turbo motro into a IS 300 since they are in no way based on the same chasis, talk about custom work...I guess if you have money??

the sc 430 is more show they go...as are most high end convertables.

dont send this off topic cuz of this but i thionk the supra engine is the same as the supra engine. just not turbocharged. both have vvti and 3.0 liters.

Same engines except one has turbos...
Does the N/A supra have exact engine?

Powerhouse racing in i think arizona charges around $20000 american for the complete engine and tranny swap!

not that bad 84k as the base price if you consider buying that instead of a mercedes cl500 that start at 125k :)

that's one way to see it

no disrespect but do you guys know what you are talking about...no one who would buy this car in their right mind would ever swap the engine...this is a old man's car, a lawyer's, doctor's, a professional football player's, a porn-star's whatever...it would probably not be a fun car to have because it weight alot..I don't know why you guys are fantasing about a big boat of an automatic that would get blown away but most decent cars...

Munchy2000: I think this information was concerning the IS 300 conversion, and I think that 20 000 is way to steep considering that would be american$...considering that the IS 300 in the states is like about 30k for the base model???that would not be a cost effective decision.

a lot of cars have more dollars invest in mods than the price of the car itself, so why not do it if you have money
 
The sc430 is one awesome looking car i think....once they start making nice body kits for that car it`ll be awesome.....and witha turbo conversion it should pull pretty good...why cant you have both luxury and speed?
 
the real meaning of gt in the car language is that, luxury, power and handling, all more than the average but not only one of these

so the lexus sc is a real gt car, power, luxury and handling

anyways... why not just put turbos in there and it'll be just like a supra?

ok this confusing the post is about the SC 430,the hight end luxury hard top convertable...do you guys realise that not all car are meant to be perforamce veichles. Take the Aranage Red Lable, it has the highest Tourque of any street leagal car, and it alreay has a turbo, v8, therfore it must be a good platform for a performace veichle????

What I have be trying to point out is that no one is going to Fu*k up a perfectly good car so the owner car "try" and keep up with vetts and Ferrari's??? that dosen't make anysese..

If you want luxury and performace get a M5, or a AMG..that is all, why risk messing up a expensive engine...

the IS 300 is a good base can and this year it has the 5 speed yet the M3 still kicks its ass hard...Once Lexus give it more power it will be an alright contender...I supposer you could twin turbo it and have a one off car but two turbo's...reliability???Blown enignes...I guess if people have money to burn
