Your role:
The Subject Matter Expert - Telecom is responsible for ensuring the evolution or changes in the technology of his/her expertise, through a project that has been deployed or by proactively managing the existing solutions and identifying needed changes. He/She must have a clear understanding of the logical design elaborated by Infrastructure Architects and be able to articulate it into the infrastructure. He/she must understand how the technology of his/her expertise works in the organization and maintain up-to-date knowledge of products available in the marketplace in order to propose optimal solutions. He/She will also works closely with SME's in the Operations team in order to decide the most efficient way to implement or modify a technology to ensure the best possible support of the solution.
More specifically, in your field of expertise, you will:
-Design an effective test plan for any new / changed infrastructure technology and work with Project Managers and its counterpart in the Operations group to ensure its implementation before the client takes possession of the system;
-Identify changes needed in the infrastructure / technology configuration ; identify current and projected system limitations
-Assess impact of proposed changes to the infrastructure on the existing technology and recommend the most appropriate solution
-Identify opportunities to save costs / more effectively manage assets and escalate the opportunity to the Infrastructure Solutions Architect
-Identify changes needed in the infrastructure configuration to achieve the technology organization goals
-Stay abreast of technology trends and innovations in order to design solutions in collaboration with the Infrastructure Architect;

Your profile:
- You hold a University degree with a major in IT or equivalent work experience
- You have 5-8 years of relevant experience
- You have a good general knowledge of IT technologies
- You have proven skills of change management; change agent
- You have excellent skills in problem solving / analysis and knowledge of analytical tools
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- You demonstrate ability to create / define metrics that accurately reflects the current state of a the infrastructure
- TECHNICAL SKILL SET:
- Deep understanding of Cisco technologies
- Routing Protocols
- Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, MPLS, Switched Networks, VLANs, Wireless,, BGP, IGRP IDS, IPSEC, SSL VPN
- Experience around desing routers, switches, Load balancing, firewalls, voice and data networks
- General security awareness
- Cisco and other relevant certifications a strong asset
- General knowledge of networking ( TCP/IP, routing, addressing, voice, convergence)
- Solid experience in designing and implementing complex telephony soplutions
- Knowledge of legacy telephony and call center infrastructures
- Nuance Voice
- General security awareness
- Certifications including Cisco, Nortel, Avaya a strong asset
