I just started jogging/running, and I thought I should start calculating the distance of my runs. I was trying to figure it out on Google Maps, then realized that it wouldn't go the way I wanted it to cause of the One Way streets... I found this site where you can enter your run through Google maps, and it'll calculate the distance, and calories burned (once your enter our avg speed and weight).
The site is Introduction to WalkJogRun
Posting this to also get an idea of how 'safe' this run is. Running along Chemin de la Cote-Des-Neiges; if anyone knows if I can cut through the park, that would be great. I can't run without music, and I don't want to have to look out for crazy drivers, or packs of pedestrians all the time.
Here's the run I'm planning to do back and forth, Tuesdays and Thursdays, to/from my evening class:
LSCDN-McGill Running Route A Google Pedometer
6km is pretty much my limit without stopping, going at 11kmph. I just found out that it's 6.1km from work to school. So I'll be parking my car at work (free parking!), and jogging to my class twice a week.
