Some of you may be aware that I strongly advocate HIIT for it's numerous benefits (easier to lose weight, better VO2 Max, etc), the saved time and the intense effort input needed, resulting in a great feeling of well-being.
HIIT: High Intensity Interval Training | HIIT
I decided to switch from running to swimming since
1) It's too damn hot outside to run, especially to sprint
2) Swimming trains more muscles and is more demanding that sprinting
So here's my program. My pool is a 24 foot (circ.). I do 8-10 times 10 runs, with low effort swimming in between. I've been doing this for 3 weeks and it is VERY exhausting. It puts less stress of my knees and legs from running. I recommend it if you want to lose weight fast, get in shape (I smoke weed almost everyday and I can feel my lungs getting much better from keeping air and the anaerobic effort).
I'm not sure if I'll ever go back to running. Maybe a few jogs here and there, but...
Anyone else does this ? Comments? Thoughts? Feel free to share.
Cheers
