Hi,

I'm new to this forum so... Hi everyone!

anyways... I wanna ask the experts here...
I'm planning on buying a BP1200.1 JBL amp and a DAW1200X Digital Audio sub (same as the Audiobahn AW1200X)

but the problem is... I went to the garage today and the guy checked my baterry and alternator... Batterry is very good and the alt is new from last year... the problem is it only puts out 60amps max (when he reved the engine a bit)... and I don't want to change my alt or battery soon... (Ford Escort GT 1993)

my question is will I be able to run that amp with that sub?? or is it going to be too much for my battery and alt...?

Tx for answering!

ahhh so you eneded up making your way over from canadiancaraudio.com? Well welcome, and as for your problem, I got bad news. Well theoretically it can be done, but you'll need to drive with no lights, no wipers... oh yeah and dont turn your radio on. :D The 1200.1 draws about 110A+ at max, so you'd need a high output amplifier. It seems that even if they rewound your current amplifier, the best they could get out of it would be about 80 or so amps.A capacitor would only add to your problem, so it's a new alternator, or smaller amplifier.

Ryan! I don't know if the pool tournament got to your head but you should've proof-read that post man!:D

"The 1200.1 draws about 110A+ at max, so you'd need a high output amplifier."

=> He meant you'll need a high output alternator!

"...if they rewound your current amplifier..."

=> He meant alternator again!

But he's right in the sense that you NEED a higher output alt. if you intend on using that amp.

Cut me some slack here :D I was out at Skratch till 2am lastnight, and look at what time I posted that! My mind is running in circles pondering upon getting back with my ex, (looking good so far), and 'm at work right now! :D But thanks for correcting me, hehe, I didnt even notice!

tx guys for the advice... I think I'll go with the BP600.1 then... it'll be enough for the sub... I think! It's a 700w rms sub...

anyways I hope it'll be better than my boston acoustics pro 12.5LF I had before...

Anybody knows where I can get that stuff in Montreal??
BP600.1 JBL amp
DAW1200X Digital Audio sub or AW1200X (or new AW1200Q) Audiobahn sub

tx for answering
