I'm interested in buying a 94 Crown Vic, with 231000kms on the clock (about 145000 miles i think not shure).
The car has the single exaust powertrain 4,6L.
I want to know if those engine are good in the long run? and what i should check (weakness) before buying it.
I have a 92 CV with 100,000+ miles and it runs perfect. The motors are not the weak link, if anything the tranny may go but check the color of the fluid and drive it if you can. My grand father had 150,000+ miles on his 95 Town Car, same drive train, and it still got 20+ mpg can had original plugs, wires, etc! The main thing to look at is the frame. Get it on a lift and inspect the frame VERY well or have a shop do it. They tend to rust out in the front parts and the area under the front doors, etc. Check out www.crownvic.net for more info also, hope this helps!
