So I bought a new pc less than 2 weeks ago, including a new graphics card and power supply and i have been having some problems at times when playing games.
I will be playing a game at a steady 60 fps for a while, and sometimes, all of a sudden i get like 15-18 fps and the game becomes unplayable. At first, i thought the problem came from the game itself. But this also happened twice now on two other games. And when i quit the game and get back in, it stays the same.
So I ran speedfan for fun and decided to play a little when this problem appeared again and my Gpu temperature didn't even rise.
So i figured the problem is that my pc is changing from my dedicated graphics card to my pc's intergrated card while playing games.
Is that even possible? Has someone ever encountered this problem ?
I've never seen anything like this. What is weird is that i could spend a whole night playing and have no problems at all. and on another day i start a game and after 10mins i encounter this problem.
I just want to get you're thoughts on this and maybe save myself from having to bring back my computer to the store.. I was on the phone with the guy from the store and he couldn't give me any answers. He was surprised this was happening with a desktop computer and not a laptop because it can be more complicated. He said he'd have to check it out because he never heard of a problem like this.
So if any of you pc pros have an idea, feel free to share.
