Road Test: 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe with Video

also... Kia has the GDi in their 2L Turbo's... thier made in the same factory so I find it very weird that it is not TGDi

Not bad at all.

So direct competition for this car is the BMW 335 and the Infinity G37?

Given money being no option, I'd probably take either of the other 2, then the Hyundai, but nice numbers and its lighter than the G37

I liked the 2009 Genesis Coupe until I saw one up close, then test drove one. The transmission was horrible and the rear end looks like it was designed by an 8 year old when you see it on the road. The proportions are all weird.

It looks short and stubby, much like the Veloster.

To be honest I don't like the Hyundai brand anymore, I don't want to sound like a fanboy so, the new Accent looks fine and it's probably their best looking car right now, the four door model with that low hatchback is nice to look at.

I'm just not sold on the Genesis Coupe. I don't like the look they're giving some of their new cars, all with those creases everywhere. They will tend to get old fast.

It may be as fast as a 335i buts no competition at all. 30k car vs 60k. NO ONE is cross shopping these cars.

I agree, I doubt someone looking at the 335i is planning to enter a Hyundai dealership also lol. I guess they are just thrown into the same class being 2 + 2 coupes

maybe with its engine boosted up to 350hp it might be closer to my 275hp on the quarter mile... lol. If I wanted a car of that category I'd go for the Mustang which backs its power numbers with actual performance! I must admit it's got looks, but come on: looks don't make a car! They've gotten much better since the Poney but IMO there's much better options out there.

to be honest, i would take this car over g37. g37 looks like shit. nothing impressive.

i was following the other day a gencoupe and a g37 right next to each other. i must admit, gencoupe rear end is much more phatter and nicer and has a better line.

it would be 370z>gencoupe>g37
for me and i dont even know why some ppl compare it to a 335i coupe. to me 335i is just another type of car.
a direct competition would be the 370z.

Nice car, that is where it ends for me. Let's see if it keeps it's look after one year, typical problems with Hyundai is they don't age well. Also, how will it run and feel 5 years down the road?
