Arbour Volkswagen Carrosserie - Any experiences?

Hi,

there was a hit and run on my car. I need to get the rear passenger door and wheel well repaired.

Has anyone ever had any experience with Arbour Volkswagen Carrosserie in the past? Good or bad?

I am debating on going there since it is close, or travel to Retouche Magik on the South Shore.

Thanks!

Careful of rust in wheel well/fender after being repaired.
Ask shop to see what they can do to make sure it doesn't rust so easily. Every repaired wheel well I've seen have had it rust up quickly after 1 or 2 winters from shitty jobs.

hey phil, the gli got hit? right side hopefully! :p you already know what i will say.... lol. never dealt with arbour..

Not even, driver side this time!

Insurance deals with Arbour's shop so I'll go there first for an estimate. The upside to going to a place my insurance deals with is that the repairs are under warranty as long as I own the car.

Once I have the estimate, if retouche does it for the same price I might go there.

My dad got his car, fixed there, after not even 3 months the clear coat from the paint started peeling.... He got his hood repainted there and the color wasnt mathcing, he has 3 different colors on his car. Got to Autoworks they will your problem in no time.

Are you claiming? Depending on the damage, might not be worth claiming. For insurance companies a claim is a claim, be it $100 or $50,000 as far as I know, so save the claims for later when really needed. The potential increase in insurance alone (depending on past history) might be worth more than the amount to fix it over the years, add the $250 or so deductible and its actually cheaper if you fix it from your pocket.

I got a hit and run as well in the winter, visited so far 3 different places. I called retouche magik today and sent them some pics of the damage, waiting for an approximate estimate. So keep me posted on this please.

Yes, I sent him to autoworks, and they do all the bodywork for Benz Silver star, they have quality employees and very good pricing. We should of sent the car there in the first place.

when i bought my car at from arbour, there was a little scrach on the passenger door and i made sure they repair it.
but like a week or 2 after i realise the finish not the same where they painted. even when you touch it .. its a little rough.. i would try somewhere else.

I will get in touch with them, thanks for the feedback

Ne vas pas la- bas , j'ai fait repeinturer mon auto au complet à cause de vandalisme et quelque mois apres le clear s'enlevait partout la porte arrière pas la même couleur. Va a volkswagen Blainville (lauzon)

Don't go there, I had two bad experiences with these guys, very unprofessional and the job really sucks

My insurance actually eliminates the deductible in case of a hit and run. It'll be my first claim in my life so I am guessing it won't be so bad, especially since I am not at fault. It'll be 1000$+ surely to repair, the rear wheel well is pretty banged up.

I am glad I asked for past experiences. I'll take their estimate and go elsewhere.

Same for me, I never claimed before. But keep in mind, at fault or not, and regardless of $$, its a claim and that's all they care about. It also depends on your age, and what car(s) you want to drive in the next 5 to 10 years.

I just spoke with Retouch, they were nice said they looked at the pics and will give me an estimate on the phone later this afternoon.

my sister smashed her car last year and arbour did all the repairs, they did a pretty good job,i dont know about longevity since she just smashed the same side again.
