News: Carnage in Toronto, F40 is bleeding.

Ferrari F40 darted by Dodge Dart.

Earlier today, a mechanic at Ferrari of Ontario was returning from a road test in an F40. As the mechanic made a left turn, the driver of a late model Dodge Dart ran the red light, clobbering the scarlet machine. The drivers of both vehicles were unhurt, but as you can see from the images, both vehicles sustained significant damage. The difference is that the damage to the Ferrari is likely worth more than the Dart owner earns in a couple of years.

That's a shame. So often I hear about mechanics wrecking supercars.

Looks like a 4 way intersection, the only way the Dart is at fault is if the F40 had a flashing green light to make his left turn. My guess is they were both going late on a yellow (red) in which case the F40 is at fault since he was turning and crossing oncoming traffic.

The Dart went through a red light...

Is that being at fault enough for you lol

??? Did you read my post? Unless the F40 had a flashing green, then they both went through a red light....putting the F40 at fault.

I didn't say anything conclusively, just gave my guess as to what happened.

Insurance wise, flashing green light or not, the guy went through a red light, 100% his fault lol.

And technically speaking, if the dart light was red, wasn't the F40 light necessarily flashing green?

Correct me if I am wrong but the F40 light would have been only "green" if the opposite light was green as well...

^^

I understand what you mean, but if it was red for the dart, it was flashing green for the F40...

Tell me when a light does not give you priority (flashing green) while the opposite light is red?

Never.

Edit : Except like 1 second before the opposite light goes green...

So you're assuming the F40 had a flashing green.... I even said that if that was the case then the Dart was at fault. So we agree. :p

My guess of the scenario was that the F40 was waiting to turn left on a solid green...there's oncoming traffic so he has to wait. Light turns yellow, so he starts turning through the intersection, assuming that the oncoming traffic will stop (as they should). Dodge Dart tries to beat the yellow, and hits F40 as it makes its turn. If this was the case, the F40 is at fault.

I just feel this is the most likely scenario since I see it all the time....people creep past the stop line, and when the light goes yellow, they take their chance to make their left turn. But if someone is going through a late yellow in the oncoming lane(s), they're going to get f*cked.

There were so few details provided about the accident... we would need to know more to see who exactly is at fault.

A co-worker of mine was t-boned in the exact same situation I just described. He called me in a fury, claiming "this asshole blew a red and t-boned me as I was making a left turn". I told him that he must have gone through a red as well then, and was unfortunately at fault. He disagreed, but when it came down to it he was deemed 100% at fault by the insurance company since he was turning through the intersection.

Hopefully we get some more info to find out exactly what happened.

Lol I am just saying that it's technically impossible that the F40 had a "normal green" if the dart had a "red".

So based on the article that says the dart went through a red light, the F40 had a flashing green!

:p

Edit : Just saw your edited post, makes sens, if it's the case the article is badly written in favor of the F40 though
