I'm amazed GM hasn't gotten on this.

Lingenfelter and Southern Comfort Automotive have teamed up to develop the Chevrolet Silverado Reaper. Since GM has not put fourth an official product yet - much to the dismay of GMC and Chevrolet truck fans – this seems like a no-brainer for these companies who specialize in high performance customization.

The Reaper is a more attractive, more aggressive and certainly more powerful Silverado which will aim to “reap” sales from the Ford SVP Raptor. The front end has been modified with a unique grille and fascia. The high clearance front bumper, aluminum skid plates, Fox Racing suspension, 20-inch wheels and 33-inch off-road tires will give it the needed tools to compete with the Raptor.

Under the hood, the 5.3-litre V8 has been supercharged to bring output from 355 to 475 horsepower. The engine breathes though a Corsa exhaust system. For comparison, the 6.2-litre V8 in the SVT Raptor generates 411 horses.

The Chevrolet Silverado Reaper will be available in the United States and distributed by handpicked dealers.

I see raptors on a weekly basis. I've never seen a mopar ram runner out and about. I seriously doubt I'll ever see a reaper. It's ugly and looks half assed.

I'm a big truck fan but I don't see the appeal in this one.

Laite que le criss.

C'est pas un produit GM.

Probably because the RamRunner is not offered as a turn key truck directly from the factory. You need to buy a Ram and the RamRunner kit form Mopar then have it installed. Most people don't want to deal with this hassle.

And seriously, the RamRunner is not as ''road-friendly'' as the Raptor.

I don't know how you would call this an off-road truck on the same par as the Raptor

If i'm not mistaken the Raptor has a different frame than the standard F150, it's not just a F150 with a bunch of bolt on parts like this is.

I'd take a Raptor instead...

If you wanted a turn key ram runner, I see no reason your local dealer wouldn't be able to set it up for you. It's not like they'd send you home with a bunch of parts, lousy instructions and tell you to figure it out because they really don't feel like charging you good money to install it all.

I don't see this as being much different. Lingenfelter buys a crew cab 5.3, from gm, ruins it with their tacky upgrades and then the dealer tries to sell it to you with a mark up.

It hasnt worked for ram, I don't see it working for these guys
