Child/Toddler in Passenger Seat of a 2-Seater?

Anyone know if there is any age / height / weight requirement for a toddler to be allowed to sit in a passenger seat of a 2-seater car?

The R8 has a latch support system in the rear of the passenger seat for a car seat. Haven’t had much use in the last two years since I need to pick up my kid everyday from daycare. She’ll be turning 3 this year. Thanks

You want the kid to sit in the passenger seat without a child seat?
No of course not. Child seat 100% just wasn’t sure whether there’s any law against having a child (in a child seat) in the front passenger seat

there's not much on the topic except the obvious to disable the airbag - call SAAQ?

in the article I posted, they clearly state the procedure to put a child on the front seat if needed...

Legal, especially given that you say it has the seat latches. I drove fairly frequently with my daughter in my father in-law's Z4. The airbag should automatically be off but that would be the only thing to ensure.

Otherwise I hope your kid enjoys the experience as much as mine did.

As far as I understand, it comes down to mainly how the seat belt comes across your kids collar bone. According to the SAAQ: " La ceinture doit passer au milieu de l'épaule (sur la clavicule) et sur les hanches. Elle ne doit pas s'appuyer près du cou ni sur le ventre."

With that out of the way, there's 3 levels of seats (excluding the 0-1yea old clam shell type).

1) 5 point all in one that can last them until 100lbs. (the one you show)
2) A booster that uses the cars seat belt. Link to HighBack
3) Booster seat under the butt. Simple

The 5-point harness is the safest and should be used as long as possible but once they're old enough to not unbuckle themselves, you can switch to the high-back because they have a built in belt router that sets the seat belt at the correct level across the shoulder. The butt one is useless unless your kid is tall or closer to 9yo.

Personally I have all three. Graco 4ever almost permanently in my car since i do most of the drop offs and driving, the Graco Turbobooster Highback is in my wifes car, and when she goes over to be watched by the grandparents, if she's staying put or just going down the road to the park, we give them the butt only booster seat (#3) which is super easy to move around. If for whatever reason they're going further with someone else, the Turbo (#2) is pretty easy to move too.

Total I think I paid $250 for the 4ever, $80 for the turbo and $15 for the Cosco seat, all on sale in the past 2 and a half years.
