DEATH OF MODDED CARS in QC?!

Hi everyone! As the title says it clearly, and we all know someone or know something happend to someone.... Lowered, cambered, bigs wheels, exhaust lines.. Is there anything more dangerous than having a modded car???:run::run: I mean I've seen ultra clean, sparkling and well modded cars getting towed and heard so many stories about douchebags cops trying to solve Quebec's biggest problems by giving inspections wich makes a lot of people sick and I have not seen any big movement like bikers used to do back then (strikes and stuff). On the other hand, we'll have the purist who will say that camber is gay, stretch is wack and blablablabla but it is still a love that we all share in some different ways *AS LONG AS IT'S WELL DONE* Meaning by the modded (not only stretches).

Cops are cops! Their duty is to serve and protect. They have no knowledge what's so ever about mecanics (most of them) because they did not study mecanics but they still say ''your car is a danger for the road'' or ''you have a straight pipe'' (by the hearing) or ''stretched tires'' .......How many car have they stopped because their tires are too old and are cracking, almost ready to blow? How many cars have they stopped because the front shock towers are not holding anymore due to rust eating up everything? Probably a money thing:squintfin

What I want to say is there anyone who would stand up and fight for our rights (no need to bash the gamer, bash the game).

I am I mechanic myself and whenever I have to do something on my car is also either for my safety or for the other's.

I am sorry in advance if someone has done this kindda thread before but I had to let it go lol :D

Hopefully, something will happen or the car game in Quebec won't be as good as it used to be

Cheers!*tu*

I'm not for or against the police force presence here in mtl in respect to the car scene. After all they are doing their job and more often than not the ones getting tickets from "our scene" are ticounes who probably deserve it. Am I annoyed at quotas? Sure, I've gotten my fair share of tickets for bs other than a money grab but technically I was breaking the law. No an exhaust doesn't do anything or harm anyone, same for tints but I'm sure their stats show a trend. I've learned my lesson over the years.

How to win at owning a modded car:

Buy a varex

Don't drop your car so low that the fenders touch the wheel

Don't have stupid camber

Don't tint your windows so dark that it looks like black paint

Don't put excessive modifications that will attract attention, like 53 stickers or wings.

Respect the road laws and drive like a decent fucking human being

If you have the need to go fast drive to Mexico at night and settle shit there.

It's really not that tough.

So stop crying over the ticket you keep denying you got or go get a tampon to stop the bleeding and eat some chocolate.

You gotta pay to play.

Agreed, i havent got stopped in years and my last car was loud as fuck

It's the all-show-no-go-fart-can-look-at-me-hear-me scene that killed the tuning scene! If your car looks like a shinny stanley cup and it makes a shitload of noise, you'll get attention.

How many times did my stock looking Urs4 keep me out of trouble! ;) Cops always nailed the flashy cars! Stock height, stock look. If the car was designed to handle the Autobahn, it can handle 100km/hr highways!:goofy:

I have done an H6 swap into a 2000 Impreza GF8. Owner has NEVER been harassed by the cops! The car looks stock except for beeing a bit lowered. The thing hauls some serious arse! It's all part of the all-go-no-show! ;) I can't believe the money people spend to make their cars look cool, but the brakes and engine haven't been touched!

I lost count on how many times I got nailed for my aftermarket Muzzy pipe on my ZX7R. I guess there are not enough criminals in this city to keep the cops busy?

"Quebec's biggest problem"

Yeah cause modded cars are really Quebec's biggest problem lol

Cheap mods have killed the scene.

Cheap wheels, suspension kits, exhaust systems, etc.

If modding / tuning was still reserved to people who have deep funds, all modding would be done with taste and the scene would still be good.

"camber is gay, stretch is wack."
yes.
yes it is.
The problem with the mod scene as previously stated is that A, too cheap, B, not done in good taste.
